HOW FOOTBALL BEGIN. HISTORY OF FOOTBALL
Absolutely everyone has probably heard about this popular game. Football is the most common game, because it is not in vain around the world that it is called sports at number one. Both adults and children play football in all countries with great interest. And many people like to spend time just enjoying watching football matches, sincerely rooting for their favorite team, rejoicing at every goal scored against their opponents. But after all, most football fans do not know where and how it originated! That is what we want to talk about in this article.
Even in ancient times, a person realized that he can throw and roll objects that are less rounded. After that, such actions turned into a kind of game. Gradually, there was a division of people into two teams, specific rules of the game and its purpose were established. In this form, the game spread among the South American Indians, who, by the way, were the first to use a rubber ball for the game.
Also, during excavations in the burials of the pharaohs of Egypt, which date back to 2-3 millennia BC, balls were found for a similar game. At the same time, the Chinese were playing three football-like games called Zhu-Chu, Zu-Ju and Ju-nu. And in ancient Rome, this game was called Garpas-stupid. In Greece – fe ninda, harpanon, episkyros. In the sixth century, a similar ball game called kemari was popular in Japan. And this is not all countries that believe that football came from them.
But the official birthplace of football is still considered to be England, where the first professional football club, called Sheffield, was established in 1857, and in the 1830s there were already about fifty amateur associations in Britain that regularly played football. In addition, the first rules of this game were also established in Sheffield in 1862, according to which no more than eleven people were to be on the field. Only a year later, in 1863, the Football Association appeared in England and only nine years later held the first official game.
Some documents that have survived to this day say that in England the first football match was held in 217 AD, in the city of Derby. Then the Celts of Derby confronted the Romans. In those ancient times, the notion of “Champions League” was not known to anyone. Then in England, in order to win this game, the teams had to kick the ball to a certain place through the whole city. More than five hundred people took part in the game on both sides, which is why such competitions often led to fights and bloodshed.
Most of the famous personalities of the time, such as the English writer Stubbés, believed that football was a very negative game and that it caused a lot of quarrels, fights and even murders. Therefore, in 1313, King Edward II banned the games within the city, and the next King Edward III finally put a ban on such games in the country. But despite this, people who loved football so much, continued to play it. Then in 1389, King Richard II announced that those who violate the ban will suffer the most severe punishment – the death penalty. And only in 1603 the ban on this game was lifted. And in 1660, after Charles II ascended the throne, football became very popular. The rules of the game were not strictly established and constantly changed, but its goal remained the same: it was necessary to kick the ball to a predetermined place.
At the beginning of the nineteenth century they decided to develop a system of uniform rules for the game and make football a separate sport. But the implementation of this decision lasted quite a long time.
And in 1863, representatives of the college, which is located in Rugby, created a new kind of football. It was possible to play with his feet and hands. Today, this sport is known to us as rugby.
In the same year, D.Fringing demonstrated to all the Code of Football Rules. They became the basis of the modern game. Since then, the rules of football have remained virtually unchanged, with the exception of minor amendments.
In 1871, the first match took place in England. After that, a year later, the first meeting of the Scottish and English national teams took place.
By the beginning of the twentieth century, football had become popular all over the world. Athletes of all countries wanted to compete with each other, that is why on May 21, 1904, at the initiative of the French in Paris, they decided to create the International Federation of Football Associations (today – FIFA). Its first president was Robert Guerin.
From ancient times in Russia, ball games were also common, which resembled football. They were played on marketplaces or on the ice of rivers in sandals. To do this, use the ball of leather, which was stuffed with feathers of birds. One of these games was called “shalga”.
At such ball games, the Russian people were more willing than to go to church. Church servants called for the elimination of such games, so it was written in the sixteenth century church ordinance that ball games are punishable by corporal punishment.
