The result of fitness: why not improve physical fitness?
Have you noticed that after long workouts and proper nutrition – the result of fitness is absent?
It happens that a person goes in for sports, but notices that he has no effect on him. The physical form does not improve, health does not improve, nothing happens, even after weeks of hard work.
This really happens, and this is not just assumptions – this fact is confirmed by research scientists. Indeed, in some people, the body does not respond to physical exertion. As a result of unsuccessful efforts, such people often stop classes completely. Is it worth doing? Not.
Scientists’ assumptions
If the body does not respond to one form of exercise, then it should pick up another, more suitable. Researchers say that any person can pass a test at home that will help determine the effectiveness of training of one or another type for his body.
Back in 2001, scientists analyzed the results of dozens of studies that included running, cycling and other endurance exercises. It turned out an amazing result. Then, as the endurance of the whole group of athletes as a whole showed excellent growth, the endurance of each individual person changed completely differently. One managed to become stronger by 100%, the other at times less, although everyone got the same physical activity.
Trying to determine the cause of the lack of results after fitness classes, scientists compared research participants in all respects. They concluded that neither age, nor gender, nor ethnicity does not affect the body’s susceptibility to physical exertion. But there was a pattern. Many people who react badly to sports were united by family ties. This allowed us to make the assumption that genetics plays the most important role.
Last study
The findings of previous studies confirmed the suspicions of some scientists, but did not give an answer to the question whether people who did not respond to certain exercises would help their replacement. Therefore, a new experiment was conducted aimed specifically at this question.
The experiment involved 20 people, men and women. Researchers have recorded all their physiological indicators, starting with how much oxygen can breathe each person’s lungs, and ending with heart rate and other parameters that change during exercise.
The subjects underwent several different training cycles, the experiment lasted several months. During the experiment, the researchers checked all the physiological parameters of the participants.
As a group, they showed impressive results. But each individual again had striking differences: about a third of people did not receive changes after training for endurance, another third – after interval training, and only some participants did not give a positive reaction to one.
In other words, most of the participants responded poorly to only one type of training. Those who showed a weak reaction to endurance training, as a rule, showed steady growth after interval cycles, and vice versa.
And most importantly, in general, no one managed to perfectly respond to all workouts at once.
How to determine which form of exercise is right for you?
Dr. Gurd – head of the experiment, recommends: trial and error.
Before starting a new exercise program, measure your pulse after some physical activity. For example, sitting down a few times.
Start a training program. After a month, measure your pulse in the same conditions. There should be a difference, the pulse should be slower, and the process of squatting is much easier. If this does not happen – perhaps you are a person whose body does not respond to such training. Change the way of training, and in the end you will choose the best for yourself.
As a result of such research, many people, instead of abandoning the sport altogether, will select their appropriate appearance. Remember: “Sport helps everyone, only you need to find your best exercise.”
